help request with win64 trojan-gen
« on: March 04, 2023, 04:18:04 PM »
Hi! first time on the forum :)

I have a question about "win64 trojan-gen" that I launched by mistake in Windows Sandbox (without antivirus in it)
the whole pc has bluescreen with the error "system thread exception not handled", accompanied by a mush of random pixels on the second screen and a melodious song worthy of the best bluescreens (this sound is not caused because of the ram, is it?)

after restarting pc avast blocked a connection (to url:botnet) and quarantined an item

restarting windows sandbox was very slow (like the first time)

I ran a scan on avast, other than that should I be careful to do other things?
actually i'm scared to restart my pc and run into ransomware haha

Thank you very much for your time

it is always good to be careful, if you want to avoid malware-infections and having your accounts compromised.

if you are not seeing anything suspicious you probably are OK.

if you are concerned, you can ask for help with removing malware from your computer in a malware-removal forum. there are two that i am familiar with, one at malwarebytes forums and one at bleepingcomputer forums. there are others besides those but like i said those are two that i am familiar with.

Hello again
After that, last night I scheduled a startup scan on Avast.
This morning when I start my computer there is a small window named "Avast Antivirus is loading...".
The problem is that this window does nothing for 3 hours (while the avast website says it takes several minutes?)

Should I continue to wait?
(the pc has 2 hard disks and 2 ssd, Avast is on the faster one)
Thanks in advance :)

I ended up restarting the pc, avast opened with the scan result despite it said it was loading
