Setting Avast as default browser does not solve the bank mode issue.

Any solution, please? ::)
Setting it a s the default is not the same as setting up sync.

You shouldn't post duplicates, stick with your original topic - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=323075.msg1702247#msg1702247

And state/confirm which Avast version you are using the Avast One product version or Avast Antivirus product.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Maybe I should have posted my issue here instead of starting a new topic titled "Ver. 23.2 - Bank Mode Task Bar Icons Stopped Launching Apps"

Anyway, that's my issue: Immediately after the 23.2 update I can no longer launch any apps from the Bank Mode task bar except the browsers. This happened on both a desktop and laptop with different makes, models and configurations. Windows 10 with all updates installed on both. System restores to a pre-23.2 update let things work correctly until the 23.2 update occurred.

I could use help in finding and fixing the problem as I often depend on Bank Mode for a degree of safety.

Thanks.

It was already explained in your other post that this has been forwarded to Avast and Avast is aware of the bug
and is working on a fix. Please stick with one topic to avoid confusion. :)

Sorry - I must have missed seeing that it had been forwarded. I will go back and look. If I can delete a duplicate post I will. I haven't visited here often and am figuring out how to navigate and participate.

My apologies, I didn't note it on the forum but have reported it to Avast and they acknowledged the problem:

Thank you Bob.
I've been told that the problem was fixed with an update but not on my system which I've reported.

Concerning to see this issue being reported in Avast Version 23.2 free edition:
Your PC webcam is currently vulnerable to spying

as I don't have a webcam.

Are there any other issues being reported by the Avast software that are false, that I need to know about, or is this just an idle threat or bone idle programming?

It's more a sales pitch to purchase a paid product. Webcam shield isn't available in the free product.
All that popup tells you that this protection is not turned on.

A sales pitch, by lying/threatening customers? I don't think that is very ethical.

It isn't a lie. I also don't like those misleading statements but I simply pay no attention to them.
Check your personal privacy settings to lessen some of the sales popups.

Hold on. I said nothing about a sales popup, I'm afraid that was your assumption.

My original post is reporting the results of a smart scan. So, after running a scan on my PC and to report:
Your PC webcam is currently vulnerable to spying

is a lie and/or a threat.

It's a sales pitch to get you to purchase Webcam protection. A sales pitch.
My laptop has the same vulnerability since I also don't have Webcam protection.
