MSys2 executable really infected?
« on: March 10, 2023, 03:06:28 PM »
Hi everyone,

Avast has just quarantined hb-subset.exe because it is supposed to be infected with Win64:Evo-gen[Trj].
Somehow I am sceptical, because it appears to be part of Msys2 (C:\msys64\mingw64\bin\hb-subset.exe),
which I deem to be trustworthy (and also would like to continue to work). Has anybody had the same or similar?
Any ideas how to test if this is a false alarm or not?

Thankful for all advice!

Reporting a Possible False Positive File or Website - https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php.
You should get a response in a day or two.

You can also send it from within the Quarantine (if it is there) to Avast for analysis.
