I have used the Avast free browser and anti-virus for a long time. Other than constant offers to go to paid pro version it's totally free and worry free. I use it with windows 11. I can't speak to how it handles malware as if I've ever had any it's just taken care of it. My scans are always clean. It's very easy to use.

You install it and forget it. I access it to answer other peoples questions.
It simply does it's job.

Avast One Essentials is absolutely free to use and works great in Windows 11. Avast One Premium is the paid version, it has some extra features that you may or may not need. Essentials does have a quarantine for any malware or viruses it finds. Essentials is very easy to use, pretty much a set and forget type of program but does not have the option to choose which modules you want to install. But you can turn the firewall on or off in Essentials. Avast Free Antivirus has the option to pick which modules you want and I like it's GUI a lot better.
