go into email gaurdian and turn it off or delete your email from the list.
ive been getting quite a few spam with the safe tag which defeits the object really so turned mine off this morning.
Well spam isn't necessarily malicious and Avast isn't actually looking for spam (as far as I'm aware).
If there are malicious links (avast web shield would be your line of defence) or attachments should have been scanned and if you tries to run/open any attachment, then the File Shield would get involved.
i call it all spam but they had a dodgy links in them for my mc coffee (what i call them) antivirus which i have never used in my life. hovering over the mcafee email link and it shows a russian email address.
Thanks David but even if im covered by web sheild id never risk clicking any links in the emails anyway.
just annoying that they showed the avast safe green box..
As I said spam isn't what Avast is protecting from, its an antivirus not an anti-spam tool - I use MailWasher Pro to deal with that.
MailWasher checks a small part of the email to confirm if spam, blacklisted, etc. I can also flag any not detected (unusual). I click Wash mail, it deletes those flagged as spam or deletion, etc. MailWasher deletes those from the mail server/s and then calls my email program Thunderbird to download the remainder.
