VPN unstable
« on: May 10, 2023, 04:18:03 PM »
I find that the Secureline VPN is unstable at best.
Every 15-30 minutes or so the internet access freezes. I have to disconnect the vpn and connect again to have access to internet. I've tried different servers, no change in instability.
If I disconnect all together, I can be online for hours with no interruptions. Reconnect VPN again, and internet freezes.
It is a problem that has occurred the last 3-4 months only.
Any ideas?
If not solved, the product is no longer of value to me.

I had similar issues with this VPN, and then later found out that my particular issue was with the VPN protocol the software is using.  Go into settings > VPN protocols so you can see the options.  The default selection is 'Automatic' which means the software chooses.  Under this selection, I was having the same instability that you mentioned.  When I manually changed the selection to 'OpenVPN', my problems were solved.  Possibly the unstable behavior issue is with the WireGuard protocol, and maybe Avast needs to look into this because we should not have to tweak anything about this protocol to make it stable.
