Driver Update killed my realtek then bricked my laptop
« on: December 14, 2022, 07:31:27 AM »
I used the driver update function for AvastOne on my HP laptop, Windows 11. First the corrupted realtek drivers killed my audio. “No audio device listed.” All known fixes failed. So I tried Windows recovery. Thanks to that corrupted driver, however, a registry key somewhere is F’d, which has now completely bricked my laptop. Doing research on this issue, ive found several threads about this exact same issue going back to 2019. How long does it take to fix such a critical flaw? Y’all owe me $1200. At the very least, I demand a refund of my AvastOne subscription price.

I did an AvastOne install on two laptop with windows 11 and I got the same problem on both, my keyboard volume up - down doesn't work anymore. I spent hours like you trying to fix this but not possible.
I see your complaint is dated Dec. 2022. Can they not do something soon!

We had issue with audio on hp and restored back to prior the update. Sound works again. But browsing is super slow and freezing, especially using Avast secure browser. Really questioning my decision to upgrade to Avast One.
