Avast blocking web page
« on: April 28, 2023, 06:59:53 PM »
About once an hour I get a popup saying that Avast has blocked cdn.translations.savematic.com as a URL:Malvertising. I have scanned my PC with Avast and Malwarebytes. No infections found. I only have 4 tabs open in Chrome Youtube, Yahoo Mail,MSNBC and facebook. Any ideas on how to get rid of this ? Is it possible one of these pages has the infection ? Any help would be greatly appreciated cuz this is getting VERY annoying

Presumably you aren't actually trying to connect to that site  ?

If not start by clearing your browser cache and cookies, including 3rd party cookies and restart your browser.

If that resolves it you should be good to go but I would advise tightening your browser cookie and security settings.

If it doesn't have you recently added an new browser extension/add-on:
If so try disabling that add-on - and or disabling all add-ons, restart and try again.

You're welcome.

Given it is in your browser cache you might want to consider some add-ons that block some data that would otherwise be saved in cache.

Whilst I use Firefox as my default browser, I use uBlock origin and uMatrix add-ons, I don't know if you use any add-ons like these or if these are available in Chrome.
I also have my security settings that prevent cross-site cookies, fingerprinters, etc. again I don't know if these settings are available in Chrome.
