Is there any way to roll back to the previous update seeing as 23.5 is annoying me with this SafePrice extension crap?

What's the build number for 23.5.6066 please?

-Dave
23.5

That's the Program version.  I mean the x.x.x.x number in parentheses on the About Avast page.  Is it 23.5.8195.0?

I download offline program installers as backup, but have marked Avast version 23.5 file "BAD - DO NOT INSTALL".

I adopt Manual program updates and will not do a Manual program update to 23.5 until the problems have been fixed.

Except for this:  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=323896.msg1705158#msg1705158
it is dissapointing that there has been no news of a imminent fix from Avast devs.

You might be able to go back to a previous version with system restore, though I can't guarantee that. At the very least, a system restore should put your registry back to what it was.

Beyond that, you can see if anyone has a 23.4 offline install file, and you can work out in PMs to have it sent to you, and then you can uninstall 23.5 and install 23.4. The offline install files are usually fairly large (>600 MB), so you won't be able to just have it emailed to you, they'll need to use a website like Yousendit (if that's even still a thing) or similar.

Worst case you can also just uninstall Avast, roll with Microsoft Defender for a bit (assuming you're on Windows 10 or later), then install Avast again whenever they fix the issue.

Hello, fix of the issue with the repeated SafePrice plugin offer was just released. Once you have version 23.5.8195.786 the issue should be gone. PC restart is needed. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this bug.

I tried to update the version but it stays at 23.5.8195.785 maybe it still needs time to be available on the servers?

How is it that people seem to be able to download the 23.5 version, meanwhile my software version seem to be stuck in 23.4.
Refer to the image below.

Even after I press the update button, I am told that my version is up to date. I wonder if this has something to do with my problem of being unable to update my virus definition.

My subscription is Avast Ultimate, the other softwares that is included in my subscription seems to work fine, except for Avast Security Premium. Is there a specific installation files that I need to download or something? Why isn't my software updating automatically?

I would appreciate help with this issue as it has been bothering me for the past few days.

Try doing a Repair and see if it works.

If you had checked Jamie2020's other topic you would see he had tried that:
Hello, as the title says, today I noticed that my Avast Premium security would not allow me to update virus definitions. I get a warning saying that my virus definitions are not up to date, I click on the update button, but instead of updating as usual, it just keeps giving me the warning "Virus Definitions are not up to date" in red text.

Here's what I have tried:
1) I have made sure that the Avast Premium Security software itself is up to date (Status is green, saying the software is up to date)
2) I did a repair on the software itself, and there didn't seem to be any indication that the software itself was problematic. Or at least, I got no notifications that something was wrong.

What I haven't done is uninstall and reinstall Avast, because honestly, the last time I did that, I had to redo all of my settings, especially those relating to my Firewalls rules and exceptions, and that's even after I made a backup that supposedly should've restored my settings. I don't trust the software's ability to restore the fine details I set up for my rules, because it didn't the last time.

So short of actually uninstalling and reinstalling the software, what are my options? Is this something anyone else experienced?

OK, well then he could try to uninstall the program with Avast Clear, delete any left over folders and registry entries, and do a clean install.
