Calculator Still Not Working in Bank Mode
« on: April 05, 2020, 08:35:04 PM »
I was told that the calculator app won't run in Bank Mode because it's an app with the new UI and it will be fixed at a later date. I was happy to see that I could get the new Avast Internet Security early because I'm a paying customer. Guess what? It still doesn't work. Roaming around in the forum, it looks like this has been an issue since at least 2016.

When I'm in banking mode, I do.....banking! That involves a calculator every time.

When can I expect this to get fixed?

Thanks!

As already explained, calc.exe does not and probably never will work.
That doesn't mean you can't have a calculator for your use while in Bank Mode.
As you can see from this photo, CalcTape works very well with Bank Mode.
I've added it as an app I can open while in Bank Mode:

You can download it from here, https://www.schoettler-software.com/en/calctape/windows

@bob3160 - Thanks for your reply. Yes, I can download another calculator app but was hoping I didn't have to. I agree that this problem will probably never be fixed since it's been going on for so long. I talked with Avast a year or two ago and their response was "that we're looking into it". I was just hoping they really were.

If you talked to Avast, it was probably third party help. Not Avast.

Is this why LibreOffice Calc shortcut launches a web page instead of opening the app in bank mode?

Adding calc.exe to the Banking Model isn't a problem. It works and is usable till the next time you open Banking Mode. Apparently, it's not retained. Reported to Avast.
