Avast blocking downloads
« on: July 03, 2023, 07:32:14 AM »
I am tired of Avast blocking my downloads from a number of sites because it says they contain URL blacklist. I have been using these sites for years, long before I used Avast, and they are legit sites. Now I have to disable Avast so I can download my files  or updates to files or download other files from legit sites.
There should be an option to add the sites to a safe list
Also. Avast keeps changing my network from trusted to untrusted. It is the only network I have and it is in my home.
Another thing. When I try to sign in I keep getting the message about a Glitch in the Matrix. What the hell is that and why is it happening?

That does not help me on the other problems I have with the app. And I don't have the site name which is classed as a threat.

The glitch could be because there is a captcha to solve and because I am in a country where captchas from sites cannot be seen, as Google ones are, I need to use a VPN to access this site.
I  guess I will just  move to another anti virus app.

Thanks for the replies but none of these help . There is no contact email for Avast which is what is needed.
I need someone from Avast to explain. They get the money so they should help.

How can I contact support when there is no useful way to contact support?  The only option I have in getting help is via this message board.
I am certainly not phoning them from where I live and I am certainly not paying for a plan especially when the payment options do not include my card.
I also find that it Avast is blocking this . windows\system32\dasHost.exe and the svc host. AND no it is not a virus as I have checked and it is the only one on my computer.h
No wonder my VPN is not working right.
Guess it is goodbye Avast and welcome to another anti-virus

Did you understand what I said in my last message?

How can I contact support when there is no useful way to contact support?

Anyway. I will uninstall the app and  use another anti virus which DOES NOT block legitimate sites.
There is also no help to even pay for the full package. All the payment methods are for those with a few certain debit cards or PayPal. NOT everyone has a DEBIT card or uses P.P.

Depends on your determination of "there is no useful way to contact support" and you didn't say if you tried the link given.

That however is all water under the bridge if you have uninstalled Avast.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 23.10.6086 (build 23.10.8563.800) UI 1.0.784/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

I did try the link  and all I get is contact a certain phone number or Search for the answer in our Knowledge Base.
I am not phoning any number especially as it would cost me a fortune from the country I live in.
Avast is even blocking connections from Oath which is part of Yahoo. Shows how useless it is.
I tried to send a false pos report but it won't go through. Says I need to correct the info below but it does not indicate which info.
