Screensaver Comes On During Full Virus Scan
« on: September 04, 2023, 07:04:05 PM »
Avast Free Antivirus
Win 7 Home Premium

Q: Is the 'functionality' of a Avast Free full virus scan affected if a screensaver is enabled during the process?

I wouldn't have thought so, given it is just a screensaver.

Example, I have my screen to cut off after two minutes of no activity.  When I'm running a system backup, the screen will blank out, but the system backup carries on as it doesn't have any on screen activity.

Shouldn't be difficult to test monitor the scan progress and wait for the screen saver to come on.  You should have some indication of how far it has got (on screen slider).  Leave the screen saver on for a while and then move the mouse, etc.  Now check the progress of the scan.
