Is VPN conflicting?
«

Hi,
My pc is taking 10 minutes & longer to boot - I suspect software conflicts. How can I check this out please?
Device: Dell Optiplex 790
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz 3.10 GHz
RAM: 16.0 GB
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 10 Pro
Antivirus software: Avast Premium + VPN
Was also getting the Defender pop-up.
Thanks

I have to wonder why the Windows Defender Firewall is actually running when you have the Firewall component in Avast Premium.
Windows should disable Windows Defender AV and Firewall when a 3rd party Antivirus and Firewall are installed.
I have win10 (but not Win10 Pro) and my settings reflect Windows Defender AV and Firewall are turned off, see attached image.

Thanks.
I manually turned off the MSN Firewall, which warned 'not advised to do'. But I did it, anyway.
The next day, booting was sluggish, but got there.
The next boot, and thereafter, was good. That seems to have done it. 🤞

You're welcome.
Just out of curiosity is the Avast Firewall component enabled and working in Avast Premium ?
