Thank you for new release.
However, many won't have participated in the beta testing.
I feel people would like to know what they are without 'everyone' having to find each beta release between this regular release and 23.09 and 23.10 to find that information.

On the first day of release i got "your antivirus is out of date" message. I would expect such a message two weeks after release
not on first day. 23.09 was the only release till today.

Did you do anything that might have provoked the message, e.g. manual check for program update ir did it come out of the blue as a notification ?

What Avast Program do you have Free or Paid version ?

With hundreds of millions of users program updates are done over a time period, but someone has to be first/early.

Do you have Program Updates set to Auto or Remind me when an update is available ?

I don't have program updates set to Automatic but Manual and no notification.

I have set update to reminder and did no checking for updates etc today. I normaly check the forum for news when new versions come, because sometimes problems are reported after release.
If those get solved, i update my system with confidence. About 2 to 3 weeks after release update reminders come, when i didn't.
Produkt is free Version.

I think that is likely to have triggered it.  That said getting an update this early in the free product is extraordinary when I would the paid customers to be up front.

In most cases new program releases come towards the end of the month, if anything a little early.

Personally I'm never in that much of a rush, unless of course I'm experiencing any issues in the current release, otherwise I leave it and monitor the forum for activity relating to the new release.

This is why I asked what is in this update (in reply #1), improved functions or fixes.  If it isn't something I really need or having a problem with, I tend to wait.  You might want to do the same set program updates to manual and monitor the forum.

I always install a new version of Avast Free on a device set aside for checking out new releases before unleashing them on working devices.  I also store the offline installers of the previous 12 months of Avast version updates.

Can you please elaborate a bit? What exactly does "is not working" mean, what are your settings of the screensaver?

After upgrading to 23.10 streaming video does not work proplerly anymore. Netlix, Facebook, Youtube all has the same issue.
The behaviour is a little different from time to time.
It take about a seconds longer to load the video, the audio starts first then vudei and is out of sync. Sometimes the video freezes completely and sometimes it's very slow, like it has problems rendering.

This applies to all major browsers (tested with Edge, Chrome, Opera and Firefox)

I thought it was something else so I actually reinstalled Windows 11.
Then it worked fine until I installed the lastest verison of Avast Permium Security:
23.10.6086 (build 23.10.8563.797)
Virusdef: 231019-6
1.0.783

I just found out that when deactivating all shelds it works fine.

After updating the new version and restarting the PC, the screen with all the update details appears and so far so good. But there is always that little "trap" that if a user clicks OK he installs Avast Secure Browser even if that wasn't his intention because by default there is a small flag to remove before clicking OK. So it's best to always click on the X... ;D ;D
Remove these small and annoying techniques to inadvertently install other products or upgrade to the premium version, especially for less experienced users...
There's no need for this tactic... ;) >:(
Thank you and good day!

That's sort of the point of their business model, though.
