Well you are lucky!!! Anyhow, I think many Comodo 3 Firewall users experienced some of these installations problems on Vista and it is reported on their forum. So far, it is sad to say they haven't found any cure! :-[

Sometimes,it gets a bit tedious, hearing Vista users, complaing about other programs not working on their computers. What did you expect  :o .Personally, I wouldn't have Vista if it were free.If Comodo causes problems, find a firewall that doesn't.

Well, you never know in what you put your feet into!!! Yes, I'm not happy with my Vista Home edition. Its added protection is completely silly and it is sooo slowww I wonder why not keep Win98 or 95. Comodo seemed great until it broke my b... on this pc with Windows Update. They filter their forums, when the posts are too negative to them, well "kaput"!... Then it is absolutely unstable, meaning it may go well on a computer 1-2 months then give some hassle while other computers with the same OS are behaving well. As long as PCTOOLS FIREWALL PLUS works as well as Comodo, it's OK for me! 8)

But mine was  ;D Avast was ready along with Superantispyware but that was all, after a year I have still not found a firewall that works.  But the software developers had time and they did know it was coming.  They could use the beta and RC copies to verify their programmes, I tried Comodo and it blocked updates and at times I was unable to connect to the net.  ZA took over my system and pctools wouldn't install properly.  But the windows firewall and my router firewall along with Avast are keeping me safe

Hi Guys,

We are going to fix this issue asap and issue an update to CFP 3. But until we release the fix, the following steps must pprovide a temporary solution:

TEMPORARY FIX 1 :

1 - Download the file cfpfix.zip in the attachment
2 - Extract the archive into a folder e.g. c:\CFPFix
3 - Disable Defense+ by going Defense+->Advanced->Defense+ Settings and setting Defense+ Security Level slider to Disable.
4 - Right click on c:\CFPFix\update.bat file and Select "Run as administrator" option
5 - After seeing "Done...Please restart your computer and update your windows.", restart your PC

After these 5 steps, Windows updates should work without a problem.

During this time, CFP Defense+ will be disabled and unfunctional. So as soon as the updates are completed, please perform the following steps:

1 - Right click c:\CFPFix\restore.bat and Select "Run as Administrator" option
2 - After seeing "Done..Please restart your computer", restart your computer
3 - Please verify CFP is functioning properly by opening CFP and looking at Summary screen for any error reports.
4 - Enable Defense+ by going "Defense+->Advanced->Defense+ Settings"

What Temporary Fix 1 does, is simply renaming the CFP sandbox driver and effectively disabling it. After the updates are completed, it is restored.

TEMPORARY FIX 2 :

This fix is verified to work with some users:

1 - Go to Defense+->Advanced->Defense+ Settings and select "Deactivate Defense+ PErmanently" option
2 - Restart your computer and retry the updates.
3 - After the updates are completed, reacrtivate the Defense+ and restart your computer.

We are currently working on the fixes which will solve these problems.

Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Tried "TEMPORARY FIX 2" with no success last time. Won't try "TEMPORARY FIX 1", don't want to be deceived (why insist?...). My post as gdiloren was removed in their forum a few days ago, does it tell you something about Comodo? ???

I think fix1 is the end of the problem.
A few posts by me was removed too, and i'll send a PM if in the future a post by me is removed asking why.
I translated v2.4, and now i'll translate v3 to spanish and catalan.

Hi bob3160,

What kind of attitude is that or is it because of a lack of solutions? By the way I am not a critic of Comodo's, but again it is not flawless, and besides complicated. I thought a good policy always was to learn from one's mistakes, but to-day that is often taken as showing a weak posture. No modesty anymore, eeh.. no arrogance is the way to go,

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

Well, I did have CFP at one time. But, because of a perk at the place where I work I am using CA firewall. Our customers are using it and my employers wanted me to use it to be able to provide tech support. So far I like the program but it's NOT free.  ;)
