Since some time in the Fall of 2023 the program AstrolDeluxe, which I have used for many years, stopped working under Avast. I have tried everything in Avast to get it working again, but to no avail. It is an old program, written in Visual Basic. Avast seems to have changed some settings in Windows 10 that does not allow winast32.exe to execute the program.
The maker of the program at Halloran Software sent this email to users in September of 2023:
Warning regarding Avast
Installing the Avast anti-virus program now prevents AstrolDeluxe from running. Two long-time AstrolDeluxe customers experienced this problem in September, 2023. Even after uninstalling Avast, it had made some change to their computers that prevents AstrolDeluxe from running. If you know of a fix, please contact John.
Does anyone know how to get this program working again?
