Version of comodo
« on: January 11, 2008, 01:49:37 PM »
Hi everyone

At the moment i am using Version 3.0.14.276 without Defence+.

I am thinking about going back to version 2.4.18.184.
Cause checking through there forum, Version 3 needs Defence+ to block any leak tests.
Where version 2.4 passes most if not all of the leak tests.

Just wondering what versions are Avast members are using.

Cheers

Indeed, version 2.4 checks parent application and version 3 requires the Defence+ for it.
So, if you're using Vista, I suggest Vista Firewall with Advanced configuration of the outbound protection.
If you're on XP, it's up to you, but, of course, old versions are not our best choice...

I'm also using 3.0.14.276, but with Def+ active. Why did you turn it off? Too many pop-ups? Other problem? I have to admit the first couple weeks were a horror with pop-ups, but it finally calmed down.

The only problem now is getting cfp to always load at startup. Four or five times per week I get two error pop-ups that cfpres failed, and cfp error while extracting... There are several unresolved threads at their forum, but no word from Comodo yet. Overall I'm satisfied, at least until the Avast firewall comes out! :)

Hi Jahn

I was getting freezing at different times, with Defence+ disable it didn't happen. I am retrying Defence+ again and will see how it goes.

I completely uninstalled and reinstalled via comodo forum recommendations.

Have a look at this thead by Thumper, he replaced cfpres.dll file with a copy from the repair directory.http://forums.comodo.com/bug_reports/cfpresdll_error_0x0_v3013_x32-t15770.0.html;msg111135#msg111135
