avast one & Thunderbird - certificate issue
« on: December 31, 2023, 11:55:05 AM »
Hi
I changed to avast one recently.
Thunderbird does not load new emails. When sending an email, I see an security exception rule error.

I think I have to export the avast certificate. How do I do that?

Regards, Eric

Are you getting an Avast or other Warning, if so what is it  ?

Now I don't use Avast One so I'm not familiar with its settings.

I found this old topic from April 2022 and I don't know if this is still the case.  Hopefully this will allow sending of emails.
Hi,
The option to export a certificate is not available in Avast One.
The current option is to turn off "scan outbound emails SMTP" and "scan attachments when attaching (Outlook only)" - under Email Guardian.
Our developers are looking into this.

I can't see anything to confirm if this has changed.  Also if you do as suggested above if you will be able to download emails from the supported email clients.
