Avast CyberCapture
« on: March 05, 2024, 02:15:17 PM »
I asking this solely because it annoyed me, was there a bug with this program?

What I mean is around 5:00AM MST this program became hyper aggressive scanning any executable file I tried run be it RPG maker, Unity, Emulator, even running a game through Steam was getting scanned and it was just annoying since nothing came of the scans and it never needed to scan the executable again and around 6:00AM MST it has since stopped.

Also this started before the update for March 5th and was still there after.

That's the thing I didn't do anything Avast for some reason decided that it didn't recognize any .exe file I tried open, grabbed it with CyberCapture, did a scan and found nothing this persisted for an hour and then stopped.

wonder if this could be to do or caused by the forced update yesterday.

Ok.

Did you start a manual scan of C: drive?

If so, why?   Does a new scan produce the same result?

If problem persists, do a Repair of antivirus followed by a reboot.

It only lasted an hour and has not returned days later it was ultimately just a bug and I was wondering if anyone else experienced it and yeah it most likely was from the update since I got the "YOU ARE UNPROTECTED!" thing that other people are commenting on.

If you're wondering why I bothered posting about it even when it was fixed so quickly, call it stress relief, it annoyed me so here I am talking about it so it doesn't just sit in my head.
