Somehow I don't believe this is ever going to happen, Avast is a business, which is part of a bigger business.
They have to make money or the shareholders get pi55ed.
As they say nothing in life is free and this is the cost of Free.
Lets assume they did this I suspect it would be as a result of some features in the Free product being removed, which is likely to push towards purchasing a paid version.
Which do you think is the lessor of the two evils ?
