Main Page redirect on Chrome

Recently my chrome browser has been doing a redirect. For example when I search for a product on google and some results show it on Amazon. I click on it and for a split second the page is displayed but then it opens up Amazon's main/home page. I'm not able to click on the back tab because there's nothing click back for. When I open up the google search tab again and click on that same result, the page/product is displayed with no redirect. So far it mainly affects Amazon, Ebay, and Etsy and on Chrome only. It doesn't do it on Edge or Firefox. Chrome is my default browser.

When I go to Amazon while on Chrome, I get this url;

https://www.amazon.com/?asc_campaign=19bf51cd05bcc2d62f38c471bb106768&asc_source=01H1P39M5ZSG9J6WR6B1HBK9M0&tag=namespacebran492-20

When on Edge or Firefox I get the normal url;

https://www.amazon.com/

The more I research this weird and recent browser behavior, the more I'm convinced this is a chrome issue.

Have you cleared cookies and disabled add-ons in Chrome browser to see if that helps.

I removed some apps that were on the chopping block. I haven't cleared the cookies yet. One fix I found suggested the following

Check your browser settings, extensions and ensure that the browser is not configured to redirect pages on Advanced settings. X
Scan for any malware and remove them from your device, if found. X
Reset the Google Chrome browser, if necessary. Next on my attempt to fix.

I will reset the browser first. I have not pursued a fix like I normally do. I'm in the middle of planning my father's funeral who passed away on July 17th. I've almost completed all that needs to be done. Waiting for the National Cemetery to schedule his placement (Air Force Vet). This is the first funeral I have had to deal with the arrangements, I try to make sure I do sensitive searches on my other browsers.

I disabled all my extensions/apps and then added them (except for a couple I replaced) back one by one testing the browser's behavior each time. I was able to add them back and the issue I had before is gone. I didn't have to clear my cookies. Thanks rocksteady!

@1776blues. Good to hear you are back to normal, after performing prescribed process of elimination of suspect add-ons/extensions.
