OK, I uninstalled Sygate, cleaned out all registry keys regarding Sygate and I installed Outpost Free 1.0 version.

Can you help me with this one ?

I can also replace trey icon if you don't like that blue question character. I replaced it with that fortress tower and it looks much better

How can I change that ugly system tray icon and replace it with the one You mentioned ?

Thanks RejZor in advance !

Also go to my Security-Ops page and select ShieldsUp! firewall test and LeakTest to ensure proper firewall operation. All PASS results mean that firewall is working properly :)

This is what I've got when I tested COMMON PORTS:

----------------------------------------------------------------------

GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2004-03-14 at 23:28:39

Results from scan of ports: 0, 21-23, 25, 79, 80, 110, 113,
                            119, 135, 139, 143, 389, 443, 445,
                            1002, 1024-1030, 1720, 5000

    0 Ports Open
    1 Ports Closed
   25 Ports Stealth
---------------------
   26 Ports Tested

NO PORTS were found to be OPEN.

The port found to be CLOSED was: 113

Other than what is listed above, all ports are STEALTH.

TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH,
                   - NO unsolicited packets were received,
                   - A PING REPLY (ICMP Echo) WAS RECEIVED.

Hm read this:
http://grc.com/port_113.htm

Uninstall all firewalls and use RegSeeker or JV16 PowerTools and search for firewall name entries with Registry Finder and delete them (for all firewalls you used). Restart machine and install Outpost again. Now test it.

To delete registry enries use like this example:
For ZoneAlarm:
zonelabs
zonealarm

You think it has to do something with my GVC Gnet IP0010 Hardware Firewall ?

Edit: I don't believe it... RegSeeker is freeware. It does very good job and it's free. Great!

It has found 2 registry keys for ZoneAlarm, 6 keys for Sygate, more than 30 registry keys for Norton Firewall and Norton Antivirus (I hate those days  ::) ) and I was sure I wiped out everything... ehm... this is really great program, I wish I found it earlier...

Been using outpost for almost a year now and wouldnt think about using another. Just bought license for my mom and bro the other day also.

Remember all if you have a hardwired firewall also, and its not set up as dmz, your online tests, such as GRC.com shields up is actually reading your harware firewall and not your software firewall. The test sees the first one it gets to, and that is your hardwired firewall/router/linksys etc....

For proof of this, run a test as normal, your defualt setup. Then run test with your router bypassed, connection straight to your computer, and your results will be different.

Thank you Datagg, thank you a lot ! I knew it has something to do with my hardware GVC Gnet IP0010 Router/Firewall... I just knew it.

I'm glad we have you in here Datagg !

P.S. Still having those skin problems with Alpha channel ? I replaced all my skins in skin download section. Only one skin by me was made using alpha channel in base bitmap (Laah-Ra), but I replaced that one too. I hope everything is fine now...

Check out for my new skin "Lite-On"...

Glad I was able to help. Im a Beta tester part time for Agnitum (outpost), so that is a common issue with closed vs stealth. Many people are unaware when running these tests, that if you have a router, that will be the first to be seen thru scans.

Having a router and a firewall is the perfect solution, makes your comp a double lock. And you have to remember, if your router shows closed,  more than likely your software firewall will be stealth, so in essence, the hacker sees nothing to attack.

Also, Thank you for the kind words. The skins are working great. Currently using the trek skin, works like a charm. And again, I thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication.

Bless

Thanks, no problem at all. It's my pleasure to make you guys and girls happy.

Btw, have you enabled those internal sounds for Lcars skin ? There are some nasty sounds in there, I know you would like to hear those...

You have to put checkmark under DISABLE avast! SOUNDS in avast! Sound settings to be able to hear LCARS internal sounds.

Cheers !

EDIT: Would you like to have a nice avatar ?

Datagg, thank you for explaining this!
I never understood why I failed the ShieldsUp test although I put a chastity belt on my computer :-[
