Hello I have a question. When I log on line I get a message from avast that says It stopped a attack from 166.166.56.??? I haven't gotten the last numbers. Has this happened to anyone else.?? And what does this mean and how can I find out where it is on my machine so I can look at the log and try to get the rest of the numbers ???? PLEASE Let me know asap. and what I can do to stop this from happening again. or turn someone In If Indeed they are attacking me.??? THANKS Aireus

Hi Aireus01,

Have you got a firewall turned on?

These sort of probes from the internet looking for vulnerable computers are normal- a firewall should block them before avast! needs to.

What version of Windows do you have?

This sounds like a DCOM attack. You can find more information here or by doing a forum search:
