Outside of a few hardware glitches, there's nothing wrong with vista.
It's more secure than XP. It does require some extra ram to run properly.
Just my 2cents.  :)

Well, i had no problems with ForceWare, it just wasn't fast enough and Aero had few glitches. Radeon x1950 Pro works fine ever since september when i bought it. Btw, i also paid for Vista, still DSP but not pre-bundled with PC. :P

For me Forceware drivers were never a problem, however i cannot say the same for Creative's drivers. But i've gotten so used to Vista i cannot imagine going back to XP.

They fully realize Vista flopped. Therefore they are accelerating development of Windows 7.

We saw who won the Vista vs Leopard battle now we can look forward to Windows 7 Vs Mac OS 10.6 battle ;)

No, Vista flopped just because ppl wanted it to flop. I haven't used better OS in years and i wouldn't trade Vista for anything. And i'm not even using SP1 yet. WinXP got useful only after SP1. So why the hell is Vista so much worse eh? Not to mention driver support was far superior compared to the one at WinXP launch.
Looking forward for Windows 7 though...

Wither vista flopped or not is not my point, this year has been the absolute BEST year for Apple in terms of Mac sales. 2006 was good because of the intel switch but once Vista was released in 2007 Mac sales went through the roof! Depending on what website you read market share had nearly doubled or more since Vista's release, I can't wait until Windows 7 to see what it does for the Mac.

LOL, so true. I jumped on that wagon and I'm telling you, that was not one of the best, but the best decision in my whole life. Nothing before felt like this, not even close... totally different (read: better) user experience. I think I am in love with my iMac, and not just me but my precious wife too. Thinking of ditching this old noisy PC box to my garage... of course Vista with it too.  ;D

It simply can not be silent with all those fans required for cooling down this monster. It will be always more noisy than any Mac out there. With Macs you literally don't hear a single hum, nothing. Unless you keep your PC under some kind of the sound proof bell.

Sasha my friend,
It is amazing how someone like you who makes his living in a predominant Microsoft world
has so totally turned against Microsoft.  I am puzzled ???
Not so long ago, you where a staunch supporter of Microsoft and now you seem to have done
a complete u turn.  ???
I'm sure your new computer and operating system are nice but without Microsoft, your bread would not
be so nicely buttered.  :)
I'm sure that most of your clients are Microsoft dependent and probably always will be.  ;D

Well I have to totally disagree here. I really have nothing against Microsoft and every single post or reply I made in this forum will say the same. I even mentioned millions of times that I respect Bill Gates so much even with all his pluses and minuses. No one is perfect, but sure he is a marketing genius and always will be.

I am against Vista, against the OS that brought nothing good. Took the money out of my pocket and gave me nothing in return, that's what's killing me. Staying on my way of doing business properly, I wouldn't say it buttered my bread. What buttered my bread was my diligence and hard work, starting in this country from the scratch, from total zero... we had no money when we came here and nothing came out of blue sky. Not many people knows that, but it looks like I simply had to bring it out this time.

Another thing... the truth is most of my clients are not MS dependent. What we do here is 99% Apple related. 99% of our clients and marketing agencies we deal with asks us to give them Mac ready files, not Windows ready, they really never asked for anything like that. All our work is done using Apple machines here, and I am actually the only one that still has this Vista laptop on my desktop next to brand new iMac that I use most of the time. I keep this Windows machine just because I still have a lot of Flash source files here that needs to be transfered to Mac. I barely do anything with laptop anymore. Besides when I look at everything again, this job we do is totally not one platform (OS) limited and same goes for graphics in general. Flash is cross platform, so it works same in Linux, Windows and OS X.

This really has nothing to do with MS at all. It would be different if we were programming applications built specifically for the MS platform, bt we didn't. So I have to say my job has zero to do with MS.

Not that long ago:
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=23560.msg194148#msg194148  :)

But I guess we can all change our positions as we become more experienced.

Exactly and that's nothing but the true. But you are forgetting one thing. That was before I even tried Vista. I couldn't even possibly imagine how bad this OS will be and with how many bugs it will be shipped. So bad that even I got fed up with everything.

They screwed up a lot of things and that's what happened. I am not the only one who switched, just check the internet. Vista is the main reason so many people finally got some guts to do the switch. I would say for the better.

EDIT: I was also talking about changing hardware components and stuff... but who normal would even imagine at that point that even changing your hardware would not do any good and would not make working with Vista a pleasure but plain pain ?!
