opening of new page when i open a drive in my computer

i have a strange problem of openeing a new page each time  i open a drive .For this i formatted the drive of the operating system .But still when i again install windows xp i get again the same problem can anybody help me to cure this.I even repaired windows twice .Is there any solution for this to cure
