Slowing down on TS
« on: January 29, 2008, 01:28:06 PM »
Hi,

I have some problems with avast on several Terminal Server (2003 Server R2 with SP1).
Since I installed Avast on these servers with ADNM console, I have lots of slowing down.
If I uninstall avast, sessions are not slowing down.
Is there a typical configuration for Terminal Server or should I test avast without managed version ?
I tested with "aswSdWiz.exe" but it doesn't seems to be better.

Thanks for your help

Hi are the terminal sessions accessing any databases from the server? If so enable OPSLOCKS on the server your accessing.

I wouldn't recommend turning off netshield and don't think its the issue.

In the Standard Shield configuration add the exclusion \\*

I hope this helps, it did with one of our goverment customers who installed avast on there Citrix farm.

Also try this

run the wizard (C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswSdWiz.exe) and it does seem to make a fairly significant change to the amount of CPU and memory resources used by Avast on a terminal server with 35-50 users on it.
