Most likely blocking by your firewall.

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashWebSv.exe internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for it and reconnect to the internet, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

Right click on the avast ' a ' icon and select Start avast Antivirus. This will do a quick memory scan and then open the Simple User Interface (a bit like a media player), here you can start on-demand scans.

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

No you don't need to close the firewall, just find where the program/application control is and see if ashWebSv.exe (Web Shield) is blocked and you can try to allow it, but my personal view is to delete the entry for it and have comodo firewall ask again.

avast also detects spyware and adware but it isn't a specialist anti-spyware application. You need look no further than my signature to see I use SuperAntiSpyware (free is on-demand only).

Other options if using winXP or Vista SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version. Or AVG anti-spyware (formerly Ewido) Resident scanner during trial On-Demand after trial ends. Or Spyware Terminator Resident scanner.
