will not remove Malware Crush
« on: January 31, 2008, 07:51:30 PM »
I have just downloaded and installed Avast Pro to remove Malware Crush, which it doesn't seem to do.  It keeps coming back, even when I disable System Restore. I've downloaded two other Removal Tools to try and get rid of this Trojan Malware or whatever it is and now I can't get rid of THEM as they want me to purchase them.
Can someone please advise as to how we can get rid of this in the simplest manner?
Thanks
Scott

What is your OS ?
You appear to have an undetected trojan that is restoring it or downloading it again.

I take it that it appears with the same file name and location (and what are they) ?

You don't say what tools you have tried ?
A google search returns many hits, http://www.google.com/search?q=Malware+Crush+Removal.

If you haven't already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode.
1.  If using winXP or Vista SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version. Or AVG anti-spyware (formerly Ewido) Resident scanner during trial On-Demand after trial ends. Or Spyware Terminator Resident scanner.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

 :)  Hi :

"Malware Crush" appears to be a "rogue/suspect" program ; Avast is NOT
"geared" to "Remove" these kinds of "Programs" . The best I can tell,
"Malware Crush" is in the database of the FREE "RogueRemover", available
     from www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php : I recommend you use
it to see IF it will solve your problem .

Thanks, I had searched Google, downloaded a couple of supposed fixes and was entrapped with more programs to uninstall and get rid of, none of which helped.  I'll try the one mentioned above first, then resort to the Tech Support Forums for hijackthis if it doesn't work. I was just trying to avoid all the tasks involved in removal, and didn't want to miss anything that Avast might have been able to do.  Of course Avast spotted it, but couldn't fix it and deleting it was fruitless.  Using Windows XP and a false virus warning keeps popping up from the system tray telling you to buy the program.  What a guy!  ;-)
Thanks much.

Scott,

See if this link will help:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic123050.html

There were some other search results that pointed to the link above.  Doesn't look too hard.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, it looks pretty much like the other forums I mentioned, except maybe less detailed.  They describe the same as the manual fix, as the auto fix says: I do not recommend using the tool without guidance from a qualified malware removal specialist! So, I was a little Leary about using it without first posting a HijackThis log.... just to be safe.
