Error 10048: Port 25 alread in use

I am using Outlook on Windows XP.  I get an error 10048 (Port 25 already in use).  I have a sneaking suspicion that I may have inadvertanly passed on a virus.  What should I do?

If you really use Outlook (not Express), this message shouldn´t be displayed. Close Outlook and run the Mail Protection Wizard. Remove the protection from all your accounts. Then run the protection again, select Manual settings, select "I use MS Outlook... only". It should help.
