Database command failed
« on: March 10, 2008, 04:18:47 PM »
A while ago, I reinstalled the machine running ADNM console.
I imported the previous settings and everything seemed to work fine.

The only problem is that the machine seems to be unable to run my daily scheduled task: Database backup and cleanup.

The console gives me a status: failed (unknown error). When I look in the Event Vieuwer I read following errors:
-Database command failed(CTaskSession::Backup, 80040E14): BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally
-Database command failed(CTaskSession::Backup, 80040E14): Cannot open backup device 'avast_backup'. Device error or device off-line. See the SQL Server error log for more details.

Creating a new task gives the same problem.
Any help would be usefull.

Thanks

Interesting problem indeed.

What type of SQL server are you using? MSDE? SQL Express? Full SQL?

Also, can you please check the SQL logs - normally, they reside in the SQL directory (they are plain text files that can be viewed e.g. in Notepad).

Thanks
