If no configuration can be done, then how to turn of the firewall feature of the program to allow full access to all programs?

avast! is not a firewall - it doesn't block communication between programs.
How about describing your problem more in detail?

When I install Avast Home Edition on PC with Zone Alarm, upon restarting Avast will prompt to turn off the Avast's firewall as there is a conflict with Zone Alarm. If Avast Anti-Virus is not a firewall, why there is a conflict with Zone Alarm?

Thanks for answering.

Welcome to the forums, bogalba.    :)

There is something in ZA that has to be turned off so that it works with avast but right now I can not remember what it is called. Perhaps someone else will jump on here and remind us what it is. I use ZA free but it is an older version that does not have that feature I mention above.
