quitting avast on a mac
« on: February 19, 2008, 09:56:54 AM »
Hi I recently downloaded Avast 2.74R0 (ServiceKit 1.41) for the mac, I am running 10.5.2 on a macbook pro. The program seems to work fine but I am unable to quit avast, both quit items under the file menu are greyed out. In the avast window under the buttons for scanning, checking update etc, there is a message that reads, "avast! is waiting for command." I haven't been able to force quit the program either, every time I do, it just restarts. Any advice on how to fix this, or how I should remove avast properly so as to install it, would be more appreciated.

Thanks.

go to the Avast Preferences and make sure "Launch at startup as a persistent application" is unchecked. Then Try quitting avast
