Inital IE Connection - Offline ??
« on: March 18, 2004, 05:49:04 AM »
I am new to Avast, however have some small quirks that I need answered.

First,

When I startup, and IE fires up, I get the following error message:

"No connection to  Internet currently available. To View internet content that has been saved on your computer, click work Offline."

and there are two boxes at the bottom.

"Work Offline" or "Try Again"

If I choose "Try Again", it connects fine and goes to my home page.

However this is a bit cumbersome,

So what should I do.

Win 98 system with DSL connection.

pnut,

I do not know of any past behavior of Avast that would cause such an error mesage.

It sounds more like a connection problem between your computer and your DSL provider.

I suggest you contact your DSL provider support.

Start avast! antivirus
Right click the skin
Choose Settings
Go to Update (Advanced) and choose DSL (permanent connection)

Go to Internet Explorer
Tools
Options
Connections
Choose the way you connect the Internet

Boot, pray and say if this works  ;D
