( SOLVED ) Problem installing avast4server

i downloaded the deb package from the avast site.

from synaptic i obtain this

t is impossible to install or remove any software. Please use the package manager "Synaptic" or run "sudo apt-get install -f" in a terminal to fix this issue at first.

from the terminal if i do apt-get install -f i obtain this error message and there is no way to solve..

there is no way to remove it..others with the same problem? thanks from Italy

no one? there is no way to remove or to reinstall!  ??? ??? ???

and obviously i can't install other packages..  >:(  or upgrade..  >:( >:(

I solved in this way

sudo gedit /var/lib/dpkg/status

in the document i find this

Package: avast4workstation
Status: install ok installed
Priority: extra
Section: alien
Installed-Size: 22144
Maintainer: root <root@sinclair>
Architecture: i386
Version: 1.0.8-2
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.3.2.ds1-21)

(Converted from a rpm package by alien version 8.52.)

and i cut it, then save and i solve the problem!!!!
now the update manager works again!
this on ubuntu hardy
