Link in ABOUT window fails
« on: March 16, 2008, 10:18:28 PM »
When I open About window and double click the link - http://www.avast.com I get a popup  - ashUInt which says: There is no application associated with the given file name extension.

What should I do to resolve this?

Thanks.
(it's avast! 4.7 Home Edition, but I don't think it makes a difference)

What happens when you click a link into an email or into a word document?
Which is your default browser?

I see no problem in any other case. I link into webpages, shortcut, word documennts. So far I only saw the problem in this particular case.
I use IE 6.0
I do suspect it has something with a recent CCleaner action but I don't know what is missing or how to repair. I was hoping that someone with inside knowledge of Avast! installation can say what is required for this action/

OK, I see that I fail to open HTML shortcut.
However, I change the settings in Folder options->file types, but it makes no difference. Any other way to fix it?

I've tested mine and Firefox (my default browser) open immediately...
If you Google 'default browser' you'll find how to set your Windows default browser in detail. Are you using XP or Vista? Default programs could be set both in XP and Vista, and .url file type could be configurated into Folder options of Windows Explorer (XP).
