How can VRDB help??
« on: March 19, 2004, 04:08:56 PM »
My computer was infected by a virus and now I have some severe problems in recovering all fonctionalities, particulalrly those of the control panel and Windows XP help (i.e.: restore previous version).

My Avast! is up to date and my VRDB was las genrated three days ago.

How can I use VRDB because on the relevant help page it is said that:
"If any file is infected by a virus, it is possible to repair it, i.e. turn it to its original state. If there are multiple versions of the file in the database, you can choose which version you want to restore."

Wonderful!! I'd like to turn my infected / corrupted files into their original version, but HOW?

Is there somebody out there was relevant experience??
Thanks in advance

You can do this only if file is infected, not corrupted due to windows crash.

Use On-Demand scan and check the disk. When virus is found, select Repair in dialog. If file is not part of the system or its "DNA" isn't stored in VRDB than you can use all commands except Repair.
