"Closing" after update
« on: March 23, 2008, 04:25:44 PM »
Yesterday, whenever I came back from "standby" I got the notice "two programs running" even though I thought I only had WIE going.
I finally did ctrl-alt-delete and found that Avast Setup was running.  Double clicking Avast brought up the standard box that follows an update and has the "close" option.
I really don't think it makes any difference, but without actually hitting "close" the program continues to run.
Otherwise, I should again state my great satisfaction with Avast!

Please, I'm not following you.
Which are the 'two programs running'.
What is WIE?
avast.setup is the avast update program, if one instance crashed, the process will remain there, but I don't think there will be a second simultaneously.

Sorry I was not clearer. It was mainly just for interest.
WIE is Windows Internet Explorer.
Somehow I lost the Setup box from my desktop after an update without actually closing the transaction.  As a result, the program continued to run until I dug the box back out and hit "close."
