Failed dependencies:
« on: April 02, 2008, 12:34:15 AM »
I have download avast linux server RPM version from avast site.

I have redhat linux 9.0 on my real dedicate server

I have uploaded all files as required

I got this error message
 ???
> rpm -Uhv avast4server-3.0.1-1.i586.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
   libavastengine >= 4.7.0 is needed by avast4server-3.0.1-1
   libavastengine-4.so.7 is needed by avast4server-3.0.1-1

> rpm -Uhv libavastengine-4.7.1-1.i586.rpm

error: Failed dependencies:
   perl(URI::Split) is needed by libavastengine-4.7.1-1

I have upload the libavastengine-4.so.7.0.1 from \i586-x86-64-em64t-patch\replace
I have installed UR:Split already.
But I still get same error!

What else should I do?

Or should I not use rpm package?

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I have redhat 9.0 installed. Should I try avast linux workstation version ?

I need to install this fast PLease help!!!!!

Hallo,
have you tried the tarball-installers? Normally, you should install first the libavastengine packages, and then the rest. In the case of such dependency lock-up, try the tarballs, there's no hardwired dependency that might cause these problems.

(that perl:uri is needed by avastvpsupdate.pl - but, there's also shell replacement for this perl script, so it's not necessary to have the perl layer installed).
