On my side, everything works great : no lag, no problem.
(as usual, tested on PES 2008)

Thanks.

Blakeman your talking about the new pre-relase update (4.7.1178), right?

Yes, sorry, I didn't mentioned it... I've install the new pre-release udpate and it's still working fine.

Not much game-time with new pre-release build yet, but the little time I had - it works good on both computers, no lags.

New forum user here (although I've been using Avast! for a long time) - and I've had horrible problems with EQ2 and Avast since upgrading to V4.8.

I changed the registry values as suggested much earlier in this thread and that corrected the problem as far as I could determine (although I gather that it also gimped my Avast protection somewhat).

Then I downloaded and installed the aswbeta.exe file, upgrading to V4.8.1178, and everything seems to working be okay so far.

Thank you!

I also tried the pre-release version after experiencing mouse and keyboard lag in Team Fortress 2.

I played for about 2 hours and had no problems at all. Good work!

EDIT: My computer:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+
1gb RAM
ATi Radeon HD2600XT
Windows XP

Hi

This is my first time using these forums. I'm not too clued up on changing things in my registry, so I don't want to play around there. I was just wondering if there was maybe an ETA on when the issue with avast and World of Warcraft would be resolved.

Thanks

Jancia

Everything seems OK, but the question is did you restore the changes you made to the registry. Otherwise you won't know if it was the changes you made to the registry or the 4.8.1178 beta build that is working.

I am still experiencing the mouse and keyboard lag in World of Warcraft after installing the Beta.  It is different now (the mouse disappears but the keyboard responds a bit better, although there are still issues) but the problem definitely is still there.

AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 Processor 2.6
ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
2.0 GB RAM
Windows XP
All drivers and Windows current with Updates

Ill keep an eye on thsi thread for any more updates.

I've tested files 1 and 2 so far.  1 didn't help, but 2 looks promising after testing about 30 minutes with no issues.  Unfortunately, it's getting late so I can't test too much longer at this point in time.

Game: Warcraft 3 Expansion - patch 1.21  (playing offline)
Issue: Sporadic Keyboard Lag (mouse lag is minimal or nonexistent)
FPS: 30+

OS: WinXP SP2
Video Card: 128MB ATI Radeon 9600
CPU: Athlon XP 2500
RAM: 1GB

Before installing aswbeta.exe, I changed (while in Safe Mode) the aswSP "Start" value to 1 and the aswFsBlk "Start" value to 2.

Is this correct?

No more mouse lag here with 4.8.1178 (but it lagged once yesterday for 4-5s in 6h of WoW, perhaps server lag :p). Applied the beta patch and no modifications of the registry.

Win XP SP2
Nvidia 8800GTX
AMD Athlon 64 3700+

Only network, standard, P2P and web shields are running

After installing #3 and getting lag issues to go away I installed 4.8.1178 and they are definitely back.  As before, it only happens when when running  fullscreen.  Actually, as I type this I'm getting horrible lag, so apparently having WoW windowed can cause keyboard lag in Firefox.

Looks like it works for some people but not others.  I don't envy you. :(
