still confused with rootkit scanner

i've been trying to figure this out and have been reading many other topics on this. but im still a little confused. i just upgraded to 4.8 home and now that it has a rootkit scanner, does that include the real-time also scanning for rootkits? i also heard in pro you scan specifically scan for rootkits. can you do that in home? and i also heard that only thorough scans scan for rootkits? what about standard?
