Conflict with other applications
« on: March 21, 2004, 08:47:14 PM »
I installed avast and, don't remember exactly where, i was asked for my pop3 and smtp ip addresses. I entered 127.0.0.1, because i use a ssh tunel to redirect the ports of my server to my localhost.

After that i couldn't receive and send mails anymore and, what is worse, after i reinstalled avast, a database server that runs on this host become unavailable. When i try to connect to this server, using the ip address 127.0.0.1 it refuses the connection.

Is avast responsible for this? If yes, what happened and what can i do to reverse?

My database server is Firebird, and it uses the port 3050.

Thanks.

Re-run the setup for your mailserver.

Forget about this. The problem was caused by Microsoft Firewall Client, that i installed recently. After reinstall it, everything is ok.
