Error 0x80046300 with MS Outlook 2003
« on: June 25, 2007, 05:06:00 PM »
My client is experiencing an Error 0x80046300 with On Access Protection enabled for Outlook/Exchange in a terminal server environment. The issue seems to have occurred following the installation of IE7 which was required for compatibility with some online services.

As a work around, I have had to disable on access protection for Outlook/Exchange and this is obviously not an I ideal situation.

The error happens when opening email (activating body message scanning), and inserting and opening attachments.

I received an email from Avast support, suggesting that I inform the client to update the software, however as was stated in the email I sent, this had already been done and the program is the latest version.

My I suggest that Avast support actually read an email before making a recommendation to a client as this is a very unprofessional approach.

Current Configuration

Windows 2003 SP1 Terminal Services
Avast 4.7 Build 4.7.766
MS Outlook 2003

Dear djm,

thanks for your message, and let me apologize for the late reply.

I'd need to know what account type does Outlook use to grab emails? POP? IMAP? Exchange?
Also, can you please post the contents of the files <avast>\data\log\error.log and <avast>\data\log\warning.log?

Thanks
Vlk

We get the same problem and we've uninstalled, reinstalled, used the latest patches, codes, program, etc..put a ticket through and still have not gotten feedback and it's been over a week.  Is there a solution to this?
