Internet slows down to zero
« on: April 12, 2008, 04:01:59 PM »
Dear Avast members,
I use Avast Home (Dutch) already a long time without any problem until the last 2 weeks:
At a moment my internet slows down to zero speed.
When I open windows taskbar, I see CPU use + 60%, non active processes 50%, avast +/- 20-35%, ashampoo firewall +/- 20%
When I stop avast; all seems normal; CPU use 4%, non active: 99%, firewall: 0%
When I start antivirus again: all OK till (?) the problem start again without any clearly reason.
Disable ashampoo firewall 1.2 gives no positive result the same problem occurs when I activate the Windows firewall instead the ashampoo.
I have the latest updates (avast, windows, Ashampoo firewall) working with Xp sp2
I uninstalled avast antivirus en installed the latest download version = no change.
Hopefully you can help me to pinpoint the problem and excuse my English.

Greetings

willyke
