Will not keep sound

I keep loosing the sound. I go into the sound area and pick out the sounds and apply it and when I go out of the settings and open it back up the sounds are gone again.
What do I have to do to keep the sounds.

Do you mean avast sounds?
Are you logged as an administrator or a common user?
Which is your operational system?

Yes it loses Avast sounds. I am running as admin.
WinXP Pro.
I go in and set the sounds and apply them. Close the window and open it again and they are not selected.
It won't keep the sounds that came with it.

Strange... never saw this kind of error. Sorry.
Are the other sounds kept into the settings? Are only avast sounds that aren't kept?

That is the only ones that are not kept.
I'm going to reinstall it and see if that fixes it.

Had this same problem when I upgraded Vista to sp1, Uninstall and reinstall was the only way I found to fix it.
