What do "hard" & "soft" mean?

Is it like "hardware and software"?

"soft errors" has some clue. it examples (e.g.sharing violation).

No, they're not hardware or software but indeed hard (difficult, strong) and soft (easy, light).
Are you referring to a particular error?
