Opera e-mail and Avast
« on: March 24, 2004, 03:09:30 PM »
Please help me!
1. Avast mail scanner doesn't recognize opera e-mail accounts  :-[ or I can't  do it.
2. I configured it manually and it is ok. ...however
3. When I added a new email account (different provider=different POP and SMTP servers) and configured it as 'avast help' says (127.1.0.0 and so on...), Avast email scanner scans ingoing messages for new account, but i cannot send an email from this new account

HELP ME
How should I configure opera or avast?

Did you check the option 'scan Outbound Mail' into Internet Mail provider settings?

Do you use SMTP authentication? (I mean, one smtp server to connect the Internet and another provider - or smtp server - into your email address? If so, check smtp authentication, write only #yourserveraddress (changing to the real address...), let the password in blank (or fill it correctly) and check for save this password.

Can you do that? Need more help?  ;)

Previously I had set SMTP server as 127.1.0.0 and login as name#smtpserver.
Then I changed the login to #smtpserver (with no name) and it worked!
THANKS

Previously I had set SMTP server as 127.1.0.0 and login as name#smtpserver.

In commom account settings, I suppose.

Then I changed the login to #smtpserver (with no name) and it worked!

In the SMTP authentication, I suppose.

You did it right. Happy that everything is working for you now  ;)
