Bootscan on Vista and screen dead (?)
« on: April 29, 2008, 10:22:35 AM »
Hello, i installed avast home edition 4.8 on my laptop running windows vista 32bit,
and it asked me if i wanted to do scan at booting.. i clicked yes and restarted my pc.
It did normally start scanning but after like 15 minutes the screen kind of "turned off"
but the HD icon showed that it was still in use. At least for some more time...
when it also stopped i didnt know what to do, i tried pushing the turn off button and restarting it
but the screen isnt showing anything again...
the laptop is sony vaio fz-31m if that helps.
Could it be the laptop's problem which would have been caused whether i had installed avast or not?

I took my chances and turned it off and on again, and this time it worked.
Ofc during the startup it asked me if i wanted to go on safemode...
I guess something happened during bootscan, but thank god its working now and i can access my laptop normally...
