IE Crashing When Avast is running, any ideas??

About 2 days ago(after an update on the virus scanner) IE started to just shut off. This only seems to happen when the scanner is on. Anyone have any idea as to what the heck is going on?
??

Hi khaluia!
Which OS do you use?
Which version of Avast! do you use?
Which version of IE do you use?
Did you install/had installed any other security programs (Antivirus, Firewall, Antispyware)
Do you use browser plugins?

We use XP and IE 7 or whatever the latest version is and the latest edition of Avast Home. We fixed the problem though. We installed new RAM and a new DVD burner and the burner decided it didn't like our settings so it changed them for us. Thanks for the help.
