I'm a new Avast user and seem to have got myself into a mess. Not that bad really, but a small mess just the same. On my original installation a few days ago, my first scan gave me some trojans. Of course I sent them to the chest and then deleted them. Only to have them put back in the chest after reboot. Today I uninstalled Avast, cleared all Avast traces, and low and behold the three files are back in the chest. The three files are: kernel32.dll, winsock.dll, and wsock32.dll shown in system files and all chest files. The folder path for all 3 files is C:windows\system 32. On checking that file, the 3 files are all still in that folder. Scans now do not show any virus or trojans, I come up clean. Is there any way I can get these 3 items to not show in chest? I notice in the chest file folder, the 3 files are in the chest data folder along with an index.xml. I thought deleting these might be the answer, but they must be protected and I can't delete them. Is there anything I can do? Otherwise, I'm very happy with Avast. To tell the truth I switched from AVG, trialed nod32, trialed comodo, trialed kaperskey, and found Avast to be head and shoulders above them all! Thanks for any help I can get with this issue.
