Configure Avast! 4.8 to scan FreePops incoming emails.
« on: May 12, 2008, 01:03:50 AM »
Hello,
I am new to this forum. I have installed Avast! 4.8 successfully on Windows XP Pro SP2 and works as expected.
However, I use FreePops to receive Hotmail into my Outlook Express on Pop port 2000 via FreePops, and these emails don't seem to be scanned by Avast!. Obviously I need to do something to Avast! to intercept these emails to be scanned.
Can anyone help with this setup?
Thanking you
Frank1

If you uncheck the option 'Ignore local communication' into Internet Mail provider and add the port 2000 into the 'Redirection' tab of settings, will it work?
